Perfect Passive Participles

 

  • Amicum proba, probatum ama. Test your friend; love him who passes the test.
  • Annuit coeptis. He favors our undertakings (lit., favors the things having been begun). Vergil, Aeneid
  • Laesa saepius repugnat ovis. Very often a sheep, when wounded, fights back.
  • Musca cenat non vocata. A fly dines without being invited.
  • Virtus laudata crescit. Goodness increases when praised.
  • Vox audita perit, littera scripta manet. A word that is heard perishes; a letter that is written remains.
